In the beginning there was a boy called Paul.
Paul was born in the city of Bath, he grew up, played
at all the local clubs and bars and began to be known for his last name - Conroy.
Once he had got the best out of Bath, Conroy moved to Yorkshire to launch The Coliseum nightclub
in Halifax. This was soon named the 'UK Club of the Year'. Conroy continued to make
a name for himself, playing Hip Hop, Funk and House in Leeds, Bradford and
Manchester as well as Halifax.
Working hard paid off and Conroy got
offered a job to work for 'The Pulse' radio station in Bradford.
From here he moved on to present the late show on Radio Aire, Leeds.
Having proven himself an infectious DJ, Conroy moved on to television and presented
programmes in both Yorkshire and Manchester. Not stopping there... Conroy moved to
Birmingham to launch the biggest dance club in the UK, The
Institute (now known as The Sanctuary). Here, he continued to play
Hip Hop and House until moving back to the west country to work for
Vibe FM.
Did you catch Conroy at The Funky Floater?
