Mayday Mayday!
Saturday 1st May 2004
Tower Bell, out of Bristol Harbour

7pm and the Flatspin launch party sets sail. We managed to squeeze 80 up for it nutters into a worringly small space all surrounded by water. Oops.

This one was gonna be messy the minute we dreamed up the idea... you only have one launch party, and boy, was it one to remember!

After months of preparation, borrowing kit from mates and sitting up all night to hand produce the now legendary Sound of Trance giveaway CD we docked (in the wrong place) to pick everyone up. No one can tell you the relief it was to see lots of nutters waiting!

Managing to completely screw up the ticketing, everyone piled on and we set off towards Bath.

Jay Russell & Rob Worth went full ahead stern getting the crowd into a right state with a superb funky house soundtrack to get us in the mood for summer.

Si Dollar (Geezer) was waiting in the wings at halfway to take things to crusing speed. After an SAS entry into the bridge, Si steared us round as the boat turned and headed back to Bristol, stopping in the tunnels to transform us into a fuck off floating speaker... awesome!

Our arrival on dry land presented a new challenge... how to get 80 fucked people up the hill known as Park Street. Through a sketchy process we and 78 fellow fliers, after a bit of a bumpy landing at Park Avenue were whisked away to the frenzy euphoria that is Si Dollar B2B Si Tizzard. Lashing the crowd in lushous surroundings with a seering stream of uplifting trance & tech house gave a hint of the true Flatspin sound...
